We know the answer to the song “Mary, Did You Know?” But what about Elizabeth and Zechariah? These Priestly parents prepare the Messenger who prepares the way of the Lord. Their training gave John deep root in the Scripture. Christ brings the seeds parents planted to their fruition. Christ fulfills the promises of old and sends messengers of comfort back to the man Jesus declares, “My Messenger who prepares Your way.”
